A bronze medal in the women’s relay and good placings in every competition: these are the results achieved by the Italian national team during the second round of the IBU World Cup, held in Hochfilzen (AUT) from 8 to 12 December.
The best result in the Austrian stage arrived on the last day of the competition, thanks to the excellent performance of Rebecca Passler, Dorothea Wierer, Samuela Comola and Lisa Vittozzi, who finished third behind France and Sweden.
The race of the Italian relay, very fast on skis, was sealed by a super performance at the shooting range, where the Italian team can count on the the Fiocchi Munizioni Biathlon line (Exacta Winter, Official Winter, and TT Winter), a guarantee of precision, reliability, and constant efficiency even in very difficult weather conditions.
In the other scheduled races, the Italian athletes achieved good placings for the overall standing: Tommaso Giacomel closed the men’s Pursuit in the 6th place, Lisa Vittozzi arrived 8th in the women’s one, Dorothea Wierer arrived 7th place in the Sprint race.
The biathlon international circuit moves now to Annecy - Le Grand Bornand (FRA), where the IBU WC third stage will be celebrated from 15 to 18 December.
