The IBU international season started in Kontiolahti (FIN) with a great performance of the Italian national team, which can count on the the Fiocchi Munizioni Biathlon line (Exacta Winter, Official Winter, and TT Winter) also this year, a guarantee of precision, reliability, and constant efficiency even in very difficult weather conditions.
The Italian athletes were absolute protagonists of the Finnish range, winning three medals and climbing on the top of the overall standing.
In the Individual race that opened the season, Lisa Vittozzi confirmed all the positive feelings of the summer training, signing an outstanding performance, both on skis and at the shooting range, which allowed her to finish the race in the third place.
The next day, in the Sprint race, Vittozzi gave her best: she was very fast on skis and perfect at the shooting range with only one mistake with the rifle, winning the silver and the yellow bib for the leader of the overall standing.
In the last race, the Pursuit that closed the Finnish race, Dorothea Wierer was perfect at the shooting range with 20 targets out of 20 and she won the Silver medal, climbing in her first seasonal podium, the 45th of her international career.
Also Samuela Comola, Rebecca Passler, and Michela Carrara, the youngest athletes of the Italian national team, signed excellent performances.
The biathlon international spotlight moves now on Hochfilzen (AUT), where the IBU WC second stage will be celebrated from 8 to 11 December.
