The Italian biathlon national team closed the third stage of the IBU World Cup in Annecy - Le Grand Bornand with another podium and good placings in all the scheduled competitions.
One more time the best of the “azzurri” was Lisa Vittozzi, who confirmed her excellent form both on skis and at the shooting range, where she can count on the Fiocchi Munizioni Biathlon line (Exacta Winter, Official Winter, and TT Winter), a guarantee of precision, reliability, and constant efficiency even in very difficult weather conditions.
The athlete from Sappada achieved the second place in the Pursuit race and closed the Sprint one at the 6th place, winning valuable points for the overall standing, where she is now on third position. Also Dorothea Wierer’s performance was very good: she arrived 5th in the Pursuit race, 10th in the Sprint one, 12th in the Mass Start competition.
In the men’s field, the best of the Italian team was Tommaso Giacomel: the young athlete closed the Sprint race at the 21st place and entered in the Pursuit top ten, where he achieved the 9th place.
After the holiday break, the international spotlights will move on a Pokljuka (Slo), where the IBU WC fourth stage will be celebrated from 5 to 8 January.
